Future plans for
St. Christopher's children & young people

St. Christopher's is well blessed with children and young people who come to our services on a regular basis.  I am well aware that there is little else the cathedral provides to nourish them spiritually or socially.

The Sunday Club at 4 pm on a Sunday afternoon is really healthy under the guidance of Magda Roberts and Noel and the  mums who stay with their children.  This caters mainly for small childrren and certainly seems to meet their needs.

Sunday Club
In order to cater for the older children and young people I need the pledge of adult help.  Until that is forthcoming and committed I cannot proceed with further plans.

What I have in mind is:

a) a club for older children perhaps on a Thursday morning initially once a month....
b) a youth group for the 11+ age group possibly on a Wednesday evening or at a time convenient to all those interested and when facilities here in the compound are available.

If you are a child or young person interested in either of these ideas or an adult interested in helping to lead or support one or the other, then please let me know as soon as possible so that we can get these important aspects of cathedral life off the ground.

Adults please remember we cannot embark on either of these projects without the commitment of adequate adult support.

Confirmation 2005

Despite the fact we only had a confirmation in mid 2004 a few adults and young people have already enquired about our next opportunity for Confirmation.

Bishop Clive will be with us for Holy Week and Easter this year so we have the ideal opportunity to hold a confirmation service on Easter Eve, the traditional time in the early church for new Christians to be baptized/confirmed.

So adults and young people aged 11+ please get in touch with me as soon as possible so that we can get a preparation course going in time for Easter.
