Auction bid pays dividends

An Indian meal was enjoyed during the recent holiday period by some members of the Friday Morning congregation. The meal was cooked and delivered to the home of Les and Yoy Young, by Isabella Andrews. The story began at the Auction fund raiser, held at the Hilton Hotel in early December 2004, where Les (The Dean's Warden) successfully bid for the meal which was an item on the programme. Isabella had very kindly offered to use her talents to prepare a home-cooked Indian meal as a donation to the Auction.

According to Les, he was inspired to bid for the meal because he felt that it was a great opportunity to enjoy real home-cooking. "
We had a wonderful evening of fellowship and good food thanks to Isabella. Not only did the Cathedral benefit from the money raised at the auction but an enjoyable time was had by all those present at the meal.   It was a wonderful example of someone putting their talents to good use in support of the Cathedral: said Les. "Lets hope when the Auction Dinner is next held, there will be many talented contributions, similar to Isabella's meal on the programme for more people to enjoy. "
