Celebrating the first anniversary of producing this magazine the
editorial committee take advantage of the occasion to ‘get the first
word in’!
It has been a challenge but also a pleasure to take on this project,
and we are very grateful for the positive comments that we have
received. However, we would welcome more feedback from you, the
readers.
One of the first changes to be noticed in our hard copy edition will
be seen to be the use of slightly larger print in some articles.
This is the result of ‘feedback’ in that we have been taken to task
by a few whose eyesight ‘isn’t what it was’, and the point (having
been taken!) has been increased. However, because of space
limitations we will have to retain the smaller print in some
instances.
We again request that more articles be submitted. This is a “parish
family magazine” and we would like to see more written by others. We
are very grateful to those who have contributed in the last year,
but there is much which could be of interest to readers that can be
written by either current or ex-members of our congregations. Write
whatever you like, but please leave it to us to decide whether we
consider that it is suitable for publication!
As reported on other pages, the last two months have seen some
changes in the parish. The new fund-raising and extremely enjoyable
'Carnival’ (the brainchild of Angela Murray) was not only
wonderfully successful financially, but also a tremendous outreach
within the community. This augers well for the future. The Annual
General Meeting (AGM ) held in March brought new life into not only
the Council but also into the church as a whole. The involvement by
many at the meeting shows that St. Christopher’s is very much alive
and that the Lord is working through us all. Dean Alan has great
plans for the future and knows that he has the backing of the
congregations.
Once again. On behalf of the editorial team, thank you for your
support, and please, please, send us your contributions!
