AGM

The Cathedral Annual General meeting came and went on Sunday 13th March.

The main topic of debate was the need to raise our giving to the work of the cathedral and the need to make churchgoers aware of the fact that the life and work of the cathedral both now and in the future depends on them and their weekly generosity in giving. Ideally there should be less dependence on big fund raising events such as the recent carnival. Despite the fact of it great success it does mean a great responsibly for raising large sums of money falls on the shoulders of a willing few.

The revised Cathedral Constitution was formally adopted and comes into operation at the next AGM.
Our current churchwardens were re elected to office and the AGM reluctantly accepted the resignation of Janet Talbot and Gloria Rea from the Council both of whom have given long and distinguished service to the Council and Cathedral.

Their places were taken by newly elected members…Cheryl Grieve, Wendy Farrell (for Awali in place of Heather Cook) and Rachel Kirsopp and Sally Bethel.

We are always thankful to those who are prepared to put in the time and commitment to making our church life work and produce spiritual fruit to the glory of God.
