‘Songs of Praise’ - ONCE A MONTH!
Songs of Praise services will take place at 6 p.m. on Sunday 25th September and Sunday 23rd October. Please remember that the value of these services depend on you first of all to be there. (Why not take the opportunity to bring a friend or someone who doesn’t often go to church). Secondly it is the opportunity for you to choose a favourite or special hymn or reading. Let us know your choice in good time (at least by the middle of the week prior to the service) so that a meaningful approach to the service can be formulated. Also remember that these are not just opportunities for a good sing. They are first and foremost acts of worship.
Please put these dates in your diary and make them widely known.

The Friday Folk
For the time being Sunday School previously meeting on Sundays at 4 p.m. has ceased. By the end of September an activity for children will be introduced during the 9.30 a.m. service on Friday mornings. This will be an opportunity for children to leave the church for 20-30 minutes to have their own activity in the Coffee Room and then return for the last part of the service. This may not happen every week. We may have one service a month when the whole family stay together in church but we shall monitor how the new scheme works.

To make this system work we shall require parents to volunteer to help in the Coffee Room hopefully on a rota basis. We still need people to commit themselves to being the mainstay of the children’s activity. Resources will be provided!

The mix of Family Service of the Word and Holy Communion will continue. Comments, new ideas and suggestions are always very very welcome.

Harvest Thanksgiving takes place over the first weekend in October beginning on Friday September 30th. Further information will be made available through the weekly notice sheet and SCENE

Orders of service.
In order to make our services more accessible to visitors and newcomers and to build in more variety to the sung parts of the Holy Communion services, a series of service sheets is being devised. So far these seem to have been met with overall approval but your comments and constructive criticism is always welcome. These service sheets are there to help you so please help us to help you and all those who come to our services.
