Stephen Thanapaul belongs to the Church of South India. He has been in the pastoral ministry since 1992. He worked as Bishop’s Chaplain for 5 years since 1993. He underwent a special training for nine months in the Seamen’s Church Institute in Port Newark in New Jersey and New York, USA.
After returning to his Diocese, he worked as chaplain to the Truck Drivers. He had some training in some ports in the UK and worked as Chaplain for Mission Seafarers in port Tuticorin, South India from 2002 to 2009.
He was licensed on the 13th of Feb 2010 in Cyprus by the Bishop, Michael Lewis and is at St Christopher’s Cathedral as the Assistant Chaplain. He also does the ministry for the seafarers being the Chaplain for the Mission to Seafarers in Bahrain giving care and welfare in 5 ports here in Bahrain.
He is married to Jasmine and they are blessed with a daughter, Trypheana who is 10 yrs old.
